Vapormatt, the world’s leading wet blasting company, have recently returned from the GrindTec show in Augsburg, Germany. Over the course of 4 days visitors from Europe and beyond were able to see a range of technologies to help improve their production processes.
Exhibiting for the 4th time Vapormatt presented the range of wet blasting applications that were available for the manufacturers of cutting tools. This included the preparation of gear cutters and taps to the edge rounding of boring tools and end mills as well as carbide inserts.
In the spotlight was Vapormatt’s Sabre machine that was first launched at the GrindTec show in 2014. With several installations since the last show visitors to the stand were able to learn about the latest design and control improvements that were available on the current Sabre machine.

Additionally Vapormatt’s, Ryan Ashworth, secured a seminar slot with his topic “Edge preparation, what you need to know about wet blasting” that looked to change perceptions of the value of edge preparation for tooling applications and also some of the key parameters to consider when using wet blasting in this area.
